《獨眼巨人博士》是由知名导演Ernest B. But  while  the story has po tential and  there are some good moments, this is a very confused film.　　The plot is simple - crazy mad scientist on  some remot e island can shrink anim als,  and wants  to try i t on humans. He manages this on a scie ntifi c team that came to che ck t  hings out. They get angry, and the crazy sc ientist ev  entua lly gets really an gry b ecause his  new shr unken  subjects won't cooperate.　　Th e thing is, the film does n't seem to know if it wants to be a thriller, or a goofy movi e. Dr. Cycl  ops (never calle  d that but ref erenced t o a Cyclo ps a fter one l ens in his glasse  s breaks ) looks c ool in his & quot;30  9;s style  sci-fi helm et" as he performs experiments a nd can b e chil ling at  times. But th ere is so much  "Disney-style  goofy music"  going o n that it is hard t o take a nything seri ously. The music belongs in  a fam ily comedy for the most part, and is played when the shrunk en people d  o things like try to surviv e, and creep around the fl oor. Add that a few of them have pr  etty gruesome death s and that  just adds to the confusing a tmospher e.　　The  FX ar en't  so bad but nothing special. The  giant se ts built a re pretty impressive  thou gh. There is a scene where little fire s are tossed at a real  crocod ile's  head which pr obably made ani mal acti vists angry. 　　It also ta kes a l ong time for any thing to re ally happe n. This movie could have  been done in a ni  ce t ight  half-h our. Good for a viewi ng, but you probably won&# 39;t wat ch again.
