He hired Francis Coppo la to wr  ite a s cript and  finish the pic  ture. After five weeks of shoo  ting, Roge r fired Francis, and hired m e to finis h the picture. Jack Hil l was  hired to wri te a new  script with  me. A lot  of what Fra ncis shot was thrown out, ex cept for the stuff with the witch from WIZARD OF OZ. (Do  rothy Ne wman) , and I finished the picture in five d   ays of s hootin  g. Al l of the interiors are Roger's (wi th the exception of  Franci  s's witch's lair),  and most  of the  exteriors are mine.
