《糊塗偵探歸來》是由知名导演蓋瑞·尼爾森 执导的一部喜劇片,唐·亞當斯 芭芭拉·費爾頓 伯尼·克佩爾 等倾情出演,该片讲述了: Get Sm art, Again! is a made-f or-TV movie based on the 1965-1970 NBC/CBS te levision series, Get Sma rt!, which originally ai red Febru ary 26, 1989 on ABC (ironic ally, the network that rejected the original pilot for the Get Smart! TV ser ies). It h as subsequently been re leased t wice o n DVD by di fferent publishers. In th e video release of the m ovie, th e background canned laughter (pre-recorded laughter added later to the soundtrac k), is abse nt. Overview Diffe rences betwe en Get Sma rt, Aga in! and The Nude Bo mb The film is n ot as well known as the ea rlier the atrical release, T he Nude Bomb, also base d on Get Sma rt, but was better received by fans of t he orig inal progra m. Unli ke The Nude Bomb, w hich featu red o nly the characters of Smart, The Chief (wi th Dana Elcar replacing the deceased Edward Platt), Agent 13 (Dave Ketchum in t he series, portrayed by Joey Forman in The Nude Bomb, who ha d played the character Harry Hoo in the se ries) and La rrabee, Get Smart, Again! featured all o f th e surviving original cast rep rising t heir roles. The tone and fee l of Get S mart, Agai n! were also clos er to that of the original series. Get Smart, Again! was written and pr oduced by Leonard Stern, wh o was a producer of the orig inal series. One element of the N ude Bo mb i gnored complet ely w as the renaming of CONTROL as PITS in the e arlier film; alt hough as CONTROL is said to h ave d isband ed in the 1970s, it& #39;s not impossible f or bot h CONTROL and PI TS to exist within the continuity of the fran chise. Barbara Fe ldon';s character, 99, makes a refer ence to T.H.R. U.S.H., t he evil orga nization in The Man From U.N.C.L.E. , a show on which Feldon guest-starred. Theme music Get Smart, Again! also reprises the TV progr am's original theme music and opening credit sequence, wh ich were abse nt from The Nud e Bomb . In this case , however, the corridors were cove red in cobwebs a nd the pho ne-booth el evator that led to CONT ROL headquarters worked in reverse, causing Smart to be thrown to the top of the booth. Syno psis Maxwell Smar t, acting as a protocol o fficer since CONTROL was di sbanded i n the early 1970s, is reacti vated as a counterin telligence agent by Commande r Drury (Kenneth Mars) of the Unite d Sta tes Inte lligen ce Age ncy. KAOS, long considered d efunct, has been r evitalized by a corporate takeover. Its first scheme involves tur ning a forg otten American scientist and using his w eather co ntrol machine to extort $250 billi on U S dollars from the Unite d States Government. Drury, convinc ed that only Smart has the expertise to combat K AOS, gives him carte b lanche to rea ctivate for mer CONTRO L agents to ass ist him in his tas k. Alon g with Drury' s bumbling aide, Be amish (Steve Levitt), Smart recruits Larrabee (who, believing that he w as under o rders from Richard Nixon to stay at his post un til relieved , has been living in his office in the now-abandoned CONTROL headquarters tending his office plan ts), Age nt 13, Hymie the R obot (now employed as a crash test dummy) and u ltimately , his wife 99 (Barba ra Feldon) to find the securi ty l eak that allowed th e scientist t o def ect, locate the weather machine and di sarm it. The y are opposed by KAOS moles within the US IA, who are able to predict Max39;s every move w ith the aid of st olen c opies o f 99's unp ubli shed memoirs . The v isible head of the KAOS sch eme is revealed to b e Max's old nemesis , Siegfried, but he is merely the agent of a high er e xecutive whom even he has never met. This hig her power is final ly revealed as Nic holas Dement e (Harold G ould), 99's publisher, who intends not only to exto rt th e money b ut also to c reate we ather that will keep people eternally indoor s and int erfere with tele vision recep tion, forci ng millions to en tertain themselves by buying Demente 's books and publications. Comedic style The script is littered with typical Maxwell Smart verbal gag s, and large portions of the plot se rve only a s set ups for Get Smart!-style s ight gags (such as a duel between Max and a KAO S hitman us ing remot e controlled file cabi net drawers). The film also feat ures the a rray of bizarr e gadg etry and political sa tire that were hallm arks of th e original series. The cone of sil ence has been superseded by "Hover Cover" ; where a meeting i s held on a rooftop with three helicopters hoveri ng overhead. T he failure of Hov er C over l eads to the develop ment of " The Hall Of Hush",a soundproo f room where words print out silently in mid air, a success at first until the w ords begin to prin t fo rward, back ward and on top of ea ch other. Max changes the well known quote "D r. Livingsto ne I Presume" to "Dr. Hottentot I Presume ". 1 995 revival The relat ive suc cess of the film p rompted the develo pment of a short-lived 19 95 weekly series on F OX, also titled Get Smart, with Don Adams and B arbara Feldon reprisin g their characters as their bumbling son, Zach (Andy Dick), becom es CONTROL' s star ag ent.
